That is what I like to see, the true face of a company (tickets to hell will always be cheaper).
Makes me feel better for walking the extra couple of hundred yards to another supermarket that charges me more for chicken that was produced properly.
I am a veggie but still cook it for those who want it.

I ask because in my area, there is a huge poultry farm that makes a big point of emphasizing its humane policies but the truth is very different from what people are led to believe so I don't know how much I would trust any corporation without seeing it first hand.
Originally posted by MimorI've done work in half a dozen poultry processing plants (Also pork, beef, fish ....) In every case they've been producing birds and products packaged for ALL of the major UK supermarkets. Along the same conveyors. At the same time. From the same batch of fluffy things.

Simply put, the first bird is packed for Supermarket A, the second goes to B, the third and fourth are 2 for £1 in supermarket C and the next goes into the 'premium grade quality assured' bin for a major clothes retailer.
Don't bother paying more - it doesn't help - although I will say that I've never personally seen free-range faked (but I wouldn't bet on it not happening.)
Chicken is by no means unique - work in any of these places for a few days and you don't eat the stuff for a month.

I hope they are not tucking me up.
