In starting my own clan, I have now found out how much people DON'T like me. I was hoping to find the opposite. My mysterious absence from the site was probably appreciated by all. Shall I leave again?
I don't really know you, but I might offer a word of advice. Children learn to manipulate their parents. Spoiled children learn to manipulate everyone around them. Trying to manipulate in an electronic medium is just about impossible using the "mysterious" approach. There is nothing mysterious in this universe. Only "unknown". You are not an "unknown" at this point, so don't try to be "mysterious".
If you really think your "mysterious absense from the site was probably appreciated by all", as you state... you have a large problem with scale and scope. Not only was it not "appreciated"... it wasn't "noticed.". Try being a member of the community. You fooled everyone once... shame on you... to fool anyone again... shame on them.

I'm sure there are people on this site who dó like you, who want to play chess games with you and I remember at least one member who asked you to join his or her clan. Now would they be doing that if they didn't like you ?
You started your clan to find out whether there were persons on this site who liked you. Well I guess that was supposed to be some kind of test in order to be sure about that. People don't like to be tested in this way. They feel more or less forced, because of the reasoning behind it "If you don't join my clan than you are not a friend of mine". That is what adults call "manipulation". People don't want to be manipulated. They don't want to be pressurised. It gives them an uncomfortable feeling. They want to feel free.
Now you didn't do something wrong. You want to make friends and that is a very good thing to do, but unfortunately you chose a way that is a dead end street, but fortunately you're young and there is a lot for you that you can learn !
Allow me to give you an advice: Accept the proposal of the person who asked you to join his or her clan, unless you want to join another clan. In that case I would advise you to request membership of that clan on the clanpages.
There is a lot of hope for you Miss Hope,
The Mysterious. 😉
Let me and the people on RHP know how things are developing for you on our beautiful site.
You are growing up, Miss Hope.
I'm very curious to hear from you !!

You're reading far too much into it. You're quite new to the site (as am I), and I don't think that the great majority of people here know enough about you to either dislike or like you - you forgot the third category; indifference! 🙂 It's hard to be a friend to someone you don't know at all, but you have no reason to dislike them either.
In order to move people from indifference to either direction you've got to, as StarValleyWy pointed out, become an active member of the community - let people get to know you.
Secondly, I think that your clan name may be scaring people away - they're thinking maybe that if I get to know this person, and like her, am I oblicated to join another clan? Can't I just like her without joining her clan? It gives the appearance that you are demanding something of your potential friends. Also, as you are the leader of the clan, it may make your potential friends uncomfortable - as you are the leader of your clan bearing your name, they may think that "if I am to be her friend, do I have to accept her as a leader somehow in our friendship? Isn't friendship best among equals, not with one leading the others?"
People may not want to join clans not because they don't like their leaders, but simply because they don't want to cede more control over who they play against and when over to someone else. When you join a clan, you are granting license to the clan leader to set up games for you as he/she sees fit. It is quite understandable that people maybe don't want to join a half a dozen clans just because they like their leaders.

Good luck.
I have decided to not reply to everyone's post individually, but rather make a post that includes (hopefully) everyone.
I have started a clan before this one- The Readers. I thought this was a very good idea. I have probably read more books in my short lifetime than many do in 30 years. This clan did not "force" anyone to join. I do not "force" anyone to join my new one. The only reason I chose the purpose of the new clan is because I could think of no other reason. The last clan was taken over by another member while I was gone. So I had this idea. I'm not good at very much. But I can read very well. I also write.
I do donate my time to others. Orphanges, libraries, and schools are a few community oriented places I have helped with in my lifetime. Although, I am not as young as many of you think.
There is no need to be frustrated with me. I am just trying to start a clan- as 109 other members have.
Here is an interesting observation: Few of you that have posted in this thread have a clan of your own. Here is my challenge to you: Come up with a purpose and start your own clan! But because you don't already have one, you are probably just too lazy. So here is a better suggestion: Talk to one of the clan leaders of one of the clans that are on the first page of clans! They will explain to you how hard it is to do what I am doing.
Also,
Are any of you woman? No! Do you know woman? It doesn't appear that way! Are you married? You don't act like it. But if you are, talk to your wife about the difference between being a male and female. You don't realize it, but that is the difference between light and day, heaven and hell, freezing and boiling!
None of you can understand this.
