my grandad has altszimers (sp?) disease, he doesn't know who he or who someone else is. he lives in a home on tax payers money and gets very grumpy with the staff trying to help him.....he can't go to he toilet he can't even eat by himself.

his life is pointless and costing the government money they could be paying strippers and drugs with at their xmas party. my granny, aunts and mother go down to see him, its not exactly around the corner..they might as well go and visit someone with a similar disease a bit closer to them its that pointless, a waste of a good morning.

everyone close to be knows how i feel about this and i'll hunt them forever (if ghosts are real) if they ever let me get anywhere close to being like that. i wouldn't allow it but if something happened that i couldn't control like a car crash and became brain damaged or crippled i would hope that they respected my wishes and turn the switch off.

i would say that this hurts deeply but i'm comforted by the fact that this is the generation that will be looking after you in your old peoples home gramps....enjoy 😛

personally i would close them all, bring in mandatory euthanasia for people over 75 and put the extra money into education.
Oh gosh! That means I would have been 6 feet under nearly 3 years already! For your information I do lead a very productive life! Though I must agree that riding a bus to South America would be hard on my "old bones". But since I don't want to go there anyway....what's the point? Alzheimers is hard on family, but the person who has it is in a world of their own. I have seen it more than once...a nursing home resident who doesn't know their closest relatives anymore can sit down and play the piano by ear, or read new music set before them. I am a piano teacher and I have seen amazing results with people so gifted. Stroke patients can recover quicker if they have developed both sides of the brain....which is what playing the piano does. Alzheimers moves slowly and when they reach the stage of your grandfather, the end is not far away. So then you needn't worry anymore about euthanizing him. Hope your grandchildren are a bit more loving and understanding than you appear to be. Frankly, everything I have seen in your posts spells SPOILED BRAT. Sorry, dearie, but that is my opinion.
