-Removed-Casual "friends" anywhere are simply those with whom you share common frames of reference and interests, mutual respect and trust. Close "friends" are the very few you would actually donate an organ to and/or take a bullet for if doing so would spare their life. You never explain when you're being criticized in public: your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe you anyway; neither do you ever complain: your friends are already aware of the personal challenges you're facing and few if any other people within your periphery really give a damn.
