Crappy music, but a funny video nonetheless...

Serious question: The dancing thing the rugby players do while in line,
in front of the opponents... is it widespread? Is it real? Is it kind of a
tradition?

It was the Kiwi's (New Zealand) originally.... a tribal war dance called the Haka.

I'm not sure 'cos I'm not a rugby buff, but I think other teams have now adopted a similar pre-game ritual?

The Haka used to be quite intimidating for opponents.

Those rugby boys really show the football lads up don't they?

... and they're not wearing helmets and padding like their American cousins!

Ok, I get it, so only the New Zealand national team does it.

Good.

New Zealand and some of the other South Pacific teams - Samoa, Tonga etc.

Here's an example (NZ v Tonga) where both teams do it at the same time.

Football (soccer) players are sissies, we all know that.

Let's not start up the whole rugby vs. American football argument again.
American football is a different game, with tackles coming in from all angles and therefore the protective gear is absolutely necessary.
Remember, most hits and tackles in football are not allowed in rugby, because it would be classed dangerous.

We'll beg to differ on that issue!

I noticed a few hits in that video that aren't supposed to be allowed in rugby either!

Heh, sure, but in American football you don't get penalised and possibly sent off for them...
