Four score and seven years ago (give or take) our fathers brought forth on this internet, a new chess site, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men and women are created equal on the chessboard.
Now we are engaged in a great chess war, testing whether that player, or any player so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that chessboard. We have come to dedicate a portion of that board, as a final resting place for those who here gave their queens that their kings might live.
I wish you all a healthy and happy new year (without exception) and as I venture out into the world (to a slightly intimidating pub on the corner, opposite a kebab shop) I reflect on all we have achieved and the nonsense we have collectively posted.

Another game in Feb.? I'm right in the middle of moving house right now, but come Feb. I'll have some time again to think about chess.
