I’m just settling down to watch this 2 part mini series for the 4th time and I’d like to recommend it to our community.

To my UK friends: it’s a good watch with great acting and screenplay, depicting an historic criminal event in 1960s England.

To my US and other foreign brethren and … err … sisteren, if are you interested in a tv level fairly realistic insight into a section of 1960s criminal vs cops Britain then do have a watch. It’s great TV with superb actors, including Jim Broadbent.

Note: Ronnie Biggs wasn’t a big part in it all.

The two episodes are split thus:
Episode 1 - a robbers tale
Episode 2 - a coppers tale [“copper” is UK slang for policeman (person)].

If you do watch it or have watched it, please post your thoughts on it.

Sorry….

The opening scene is pure British.
The music, the Jags, the bowler hats, the brollies, the FT, and the march across the zebra crossing is a mix of Beatles Abbey Road and Monty Python.

Just wonderful .

One of the episodes featured the theft of a large container of elastic bands from a railway truck. It was titled 'The Great Train Rubbery.'

True but when the robbers opened up the contents they found that all the bands were defective because the “offshore” producers forgot to get the polymer chains correct.😲

That's because their check bounced.
