when sanding a wooden jewelry box with abrasive papers, i choose carefully the coarseness of the paper to facilitate the smoothness of the surface of the box
my facial hair can attain various levels and grades of coarseness and i am able to adjust the abrasiveness of my face

such a wonderful tool is the hair protruding from my skin
i rub it everywhere that needs scouring

I knew a guy who never trimmed any part of his beard, including the moustache. His moustache was so long it blended into his beard, and I could never see his mouth.
You couldn't see where the moustache ended and the beard began. And whenever he talked all I could see was the moustache part of it moving up and down.

It was a strange sight, and even stranger was the fact he could eat without getting any food stuck to his facial hair.
Was this 🀷‍β™‚οΈπŸ€”... Gandalf or Merlin? 3πŸ‘πŸš¬

I didn't grow a mustache until I was about 40.
in 1975 i turned twenty one years of age and realized that to gain the attention of the ladies i wanted the attention of, i desperately needed the burt reynolds "bandit" look
this meant growing or faking the stashe

i cried myself to sleep, alone, many nights

Why cultivate something on your face that grows wild round your a$$hole ?

I'm sure that in the 1970s they had mustaches for sale, whether at a local novelty shop or by mail order.

There are only 3 valid reasons why a chap would grow a moustache:

1. He has some irregularity with his upper lip which he wishes to conceal.
2. He has invented a time machine and is going back to the 1970s.
3. He is quite mad.
I take the liberty to add a fourth:

* as a young chap one could miss the option for the first application of the razor and thus the moustacheis there..

...in my case it stayed there for some time.

In the 70's mustaches were the style, unless you were military or in the Police force or Fire Department, everyone had a mustache. Same decade as the mini-skirts! πŸ™‚

EDIT: Oh and everyone had long hair it seemed!
