They didnt know their lives were near to end. We never do. The best wishes for their souls no matter what side they took. We will follow them one day.

I'm guessing the Marine for your avater is a loved of one of yours, I am very sorry for your loss.
He made the Bigest Sacrafice anyone can ever make, and not for him self, for someone elses Freedom, that gives someone the most Honor anyone can ever have.

The photo is taken from an internet news site, I think Boby was making the point that all the lives lost during the war are of the same intrinsic value. Yes the marine sacrificed his life, and although he may have believed he was soldiering for someone's freedom, or to protect the US, or perhaps just so he could afford college, it is simply not the case that the point of the invasion and occupation was to either liberate the Iraqi people or to make the US more secure.

12 years is long enough when nothing is achieved.
the LoN and UN have become corript, with a handful of contries dicating world politics, the LoN and Un would never work as a tool for democracy

i'm not sure it ever was that much of a secret:

many genuinely believe the fight is for security
many genuinely believe the fight is for freedom
many genuinely believe the fight is for oil control

but

the weapons brokers who help 'sponsor' these events KnOw they'll make a lot of money

like the quote goes: "what this country needs is a good war"

I guess it didn't make the headline news that there was an international arms fair a couple of weeks ago held in arabia (I forget exactly, maybe Oman or Qatar) with arms companies from USA, Britain, France and Germany present and with Syria and Iran as invited guests...
I'm surprised they didn't ask Iraq!
