When I fly I seldom watch movies these days, rather it's in with the earphones and the Floyd up full volume. The time just flies by, in more ways than one. 'I have become comfortably numb...' Genious.

The first time I heard 'Welcome to the Machine' from Wish You Were Here, I was blown away. The guitar solo is perfect.

David Gilmour singing and playing on Comfortable Numb ~ Adore him.
I began a relationship ship with a man two years ago. The first thing I said to him was that he reminded me of him. He’d been told it a few times.

I watched an excellent documentary on the making of this album last which triggered this thread. The band members were talking about how the album and especially Shine on You Crazy Diamond had been inspired by Syd Barrett.

Wish You Were Here is my favourite Pink Floyd album. I find it more thematic, rounded and artistically mature than Dark Side of the Moon. Fabulous music.

Did you see Roger Waters on BBC’s Hardtalk a few weeks ago?
There’s a clip here where he avoids talking about the fact that he tried to sue the band to stop them continuing with the name Pink Floyd.

Nice clip thanks, good to see him owning up to his error.

A little divegeester/Waters trivia: back in the early 1980s I golf caddied for James Hunt in a round against Roger Waters. I was totally star struck by both of them but especially Waters.

In the late 70's I played a round of golf listening to my "portable boombox" blaring out the Rolling Stones. Does that count? BTW my round was "cut short" by a very irate marshall who informed me that some of the other golfers were distracted by the noise. I told him "the other golfers" had no musical sense. It didn't help. I was escorted off the course, banished from ever being able to set foot on it again. In the clubhouse they actually have a picture of me "UNwanted" poster style. One time I put on a fake moustache and glasses and tried to get in. It didn't work. 😳😠😀

Because it was meant to be very funny - calling you a cheater and all - and you didn't respond. You usually throw yourself on posts where you are a bit challenged and amused. Never mind, there will be new opportunities, I'm sure. 🙂
