Bumping old threads causes confusion and delay. There are times to bump old threads, but it has to be a good reason. Otherwise, all the 'Johny Jokers' like yourself would be bumping old threads for laughs. For every old thread bumped, a new thread falls off page one.

It wasn't merely a case of "Johny Joker" (not really sure I get the reference; must be a culture thing), it was to be a comment on the passage of time, on the 1123 pages of mundane, on the shared prevailing insistence we have for being relevant in a system designed for disposal.
Not necessarily deep, philosophically-speaking, but certainly more than a failed attempt at being clever. Well, at least 'attempt' fits.

Fact is, over in Culture, some fellow named Bellow resurrected a two-year old thread about movies (instead of starting his own), and--- miracle of miracles--- the thread continues on unabated.
My snatch had a point unrelated to anything from the original thread, save time itself.

But then just when you were about to get to that point only five hours later than your original nonsensical bump the mods closed the thread not taking into account your need to have a nap.
Imagine a forum where everyone operated like you:
"I'm just posting this here now because I want to post more stuff here later and I want to see what happens but my real post is only coming later."
