Hi, all
I will no enter in the discussion between Sintubin and Schliemann and
even less take any side, but as any family "brothers" have some
discussion and even figth between them.
Schliemann was some hudge knowledge of opennings and a major
library ( that is permitted in correpondence chess ) but in my games
with him he outplays me in the endings. I've learrned many things
with him
Sintubin has good chess ( the only to games that I've with him ), we
commented our games the games.
The Question about Nr.1 ranking, in this kind of sites it's only a
number, Pawn Star persons have the best probability of been on that
place.
The suspiction on correspondence chess about machines will never
end and this site dont escape to that. Even the great institucions on
Chess dont have developde a good method to catch players.
In this present "war", the result only harm our family ( RHP) and
every person that will take a stand.
Regards
Gentleman Fernando
As most folks know, Dave is my coach, and friend. But I am not going
to take sides here. We have a situation on our hands, and the
situation itself is pretty simple. Dave expressed a belief about Gilbert
and his actions. I, personally, am not sure that I would even
recognize a program if I came up against one, and, to kmy
knowledge, there is no way of proving that Gilbert is cheating. So,
there we have it-- statement was made, which is virtually impossible to
prove or refute to anyone's satisfaction.
So what should we do?
Play on.
This event DOES have the potential to do some serious damage in
this community. But it doesn't have to. Neither Dave nor Gil should
feel that they have to leave-- we're a big family, there's room enough
even for people who may not like or trust each other. Gil-- I would
stop resigning games, if I were you. I know that your intention is to
show that points and ratings are not important to you-- but if those
rating points were come by honesly, there is no reason to discard
them.
I will be away from this afternoon until late tomorrow-- I'm sure that
there will be plenty of new posts for me to read by then. I hope that
they are all written from a place of rationality and respect for RHP as a
community. Arguing over a difference of opinion is fine-- and makes
for entertaining reading. But stooping to name-calling-- I would hope
that we are all beyond that.
