Oh joy - I had never looked up quotations on the New Year before. There are some real gems. Mark Twain for starters.....
“New Year's Day - Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.”
By the way, kind sir, please add the $5.00 charge to my platinum account: $5.00 - 1 clan win = $4.00 balance as of 12/31/08.

"People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas”
This quote does not fit the thread, but it tickled me and I thought I would share it 🙂

Perhaps they are just jealous, that many would rather see GB's posts than theirs. Jealousy can be horrible thing, and show its ugly head in many different ways!
Originally posted by Grampy BobbyIt sounded to me like the point was that people worry about eating too much during the holidays, but not the rest of the year; but that sounds strange to me because my impression is that most people decide not to worry about eating too much during the holidays and rather enjoy all the good (but not always very healthy) food, and try to eat more healthy the rest of the year. At least for myself, the Christmas holidays are probably the time of the year when I am least worried about eating too much.
My dear Nordlys, isn't that precisely the point Policestate made with the quote inserted in his post?
