The BMI has already been somewhat discredited by athletes. It's a matter of body composition. For instance, I weigh about 192 lbs even though I'm only 5'9" -- but I have a lot of muscle mass in my legs and maybe also my back -- so this doesn't necessarily mean I'm obese. Let's remember that muscle weighs more per volume unit than does fat.
Yes, I am quite aware of how it works.

Have you heard of Sydney Crosby?

Is Sidney Crosby overweight? Yes, if measured on the Body Mass Index, the most common clinical tool for assessing body weight in individuals. ... That puts him at 27.9 on the BMI; obesity begins at 30

I'd love to see him do 10 and 10 pull ups weighing 250 pounds. He would have to be some strong with lots of stamina and endurance never mind the 21 or 22 reps he was talking about that is just crazy. I knew body builders that wouldn't be able to do that! 🙂

My pull up game is weak compared to pro armwrestlers ...I'm just an amateur.

Pull ups are the key movement for armwrestlers so we do them all of the time.
Even big guys like me.

Me doing ten sets of ten is on the low end for competitive armwrestlers.

Not saying you don't do them, saying I don't believe the times and reps is all.

Especially when you start with 21 and 22 reps, Man body builders don't do that!

@Very-Rusty

Body builders don't do functional movements like pull ups because pull ups are hard.

I've been doing pull ups for 10 years now.
I started at 1 rep. Now I can do 10 sets of ten easily.

It's not as impressive as you are making it. I personally know armwrestlers who make me look weak at pull ups.

I'll post a video after a tournament.
I'll do my pull ups and show my matches.
It'll only be a 3 minute video so it will be easy to watch...I might even win the amateur class 🤔

OF course body builder do pull ups! How do you think they get the bulk on their arms? I worked out at Goodlife for years, and knew several Bodybuilders who competed in competitions. They weren't taking steroids either as they are randomly tested. Are you guys tested for steroids?

@Very-Rusty

That old medical chart with height and weight was made when dudes were small and weak and skinny.

Modern men and women can carry a lot of muscle and be way heavier than the recommendation on that chart.

It says I should be 170 pounds at 6 feet tall.

Good god man! I'd look like a stick man with a huge alien head!

Go to a vintage clothing store and look at a suit from the 1930's ...way smaller... almost ridiculous.

Civil war uniforms were even smaller...like kid like.

That height/weight chart is seriously outdated.

Decades ago I lived in Monroe, Michigan, where Colonel Custer's house had been turned into a museum, built when people were smaller.

Later in life someone took me to Gettysburg. It was sickening to think of those little guys shooting each other and running each other through with swords. Sick Sick Sick.

So you should weigh around 80 lbs. less according to the chart from 2018, if that is old. 🙄

You forgot to answer the question about taking steroids? Or just avoided it.

All sports have tested events and non tested events.

So you're going to see steroids all over but most don't use them.

Top level athletes?...yes most do.

Do I do them? No... because I don't have a connection for them.
If you know a guy I would appreciate it.
I would be unstoppable 🤔

They never updated the medical weight/height chart.

Modern people are way bigger.
According to your chart hockey players are overweight and almost obese 🙄
That is absurd...
When that chart was invented people didn't have big muscles and strength with athletic ability.

That chart is for old people...no offense 😏

I'd love to if I knew someone had some.

They make you impotent! 🙂
