Hmm.
darvlay has the Canadian flag up.
Lot of American hippies went to Canada, because of the Vietnam War.
Maybe your parents were hippies and thats the reason why you hate them so much, too much love and piece.

Moyo?
Moyo is a district in northern Uganda. Like other Ugandan districts, it is named after its 'chief town'. The districts of Adjumani and Arua lie to the south across waters of the White Nile, while Yumbe district is to the west. The Sudanese state of Bahr al Ghazal forms the northern border, and a road runs from Moyo town to the town of Kajo-keji.

Thank you, David Suzuki.

Perfect segue!

David Suzuki is probably about the only hippy I can withstand. Dr. Dave, you're all right in my eyes!

Reading this I think you have a latent desire to be a hippy.

Jim Morrison
I have to disagree. Jim was not a hippie. He had an interesting outlook on life that might be miscontrued as hippiedom, but the truth is, he hated hippies. Calling Morrison a hippie is like calling Roger Waters a hippie. Both are/were into overthrowing the established order, but it's more about darkness and chaos than peace love and dope.

Ok, ask yourself this...would Jim Morrison have ever eaten or worn "cruelty free" anything? Can you see him as a vegan? I see him eating the bloody raw still beating heart of a cow to "experience its death". Definitely unconventional, but far from strereotypical hippie behavior.

Oh, and Jim had a job. If you could call it that.

Next you'll be saying Pink Floyd never done drugs hah!
Everyone who wanted to be cool in the sixties/seventies was a hippy.
[including Roger Waters]
Like the parents of probably half of the people on this site.
Or grandparents in certain childrens cases.

We seem to have a discrepancy over what constitutes a hippy. The dictionary definition is:

Hippy: a usually young person who rejects the mores of established society (as by dressing unconventionally or favoring communal living), advocates a nonviolent ethic, and often uses psychedelic drugs or marijuana; broadly: a long-haired unconventionally dressed young person.

Now, who among us fits that description? Who among us must wear the scarlet 'H'?
