Looks pretty useless to me.

"Multiple desktops" are better. But Linux users would already know that.

Let me guess. You`re an anti MS and all that`s windows. Why do you think it`s usless?

Looks good. Nice concept, but how much CPU time and RAM do all those 3D graphics take up. Before you know it you'll need a a 64 bit processor just to handle your OS.
Sorry to put a dampner on it, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was like a sieve security wise as well.
You could always run it behind a Linux firewall though.😛

Read this thread:

You should try multiple desktops, which I already mentioned. They are just that. More space to open more windows. Different screen resolutions for each one, different background wallpaper. The choice is yours. Imagine what YOU could do with, say, 8 desktops...

Read the thread, and still i think it`s either you like it or you dont. I like it. I dont play games on my pc, but some do. It`s all a matter of choice and not about bashing something.

Why would i want to run linux?

well-it's not full of holes, it's free, open source, few if any viruses are written for it etc. it's pretty much the securest, most stable OS about.

microsoft use linux servers and firewalls...

At first I had no idea what you were talking about because you didn't include the url in your message. 😠

Now that I have the url: http://www.hamar.sk/sphere/ I checked it out.

I see that you must install NET FRAMEWORK for it to run. Well, last year I took a Windows programming class at college and we had to install this program. It (NET FRAMEWORK) immediately installed a user file on my computer so that there was an access for Microsoft to log into my computer. WOW! I couldn't believe that, but there it was, another user file all set up for them. Guess what? Once you install NET FRAMEWORK it can NEVER be removed!

I question the integrety of Microsoft on this program and any program that installs a doorway to your computer which cannot be removed. I also note that this 3-D version is not written by Microsoft, but by a 3rd party vendor. So this person is using code existing in NET FRAMEWORK. Could it be the code that accesses your computer? Because your computer is OPEN once you install NET FRAMEWORK.

I guess others just Googled Sphere XP. Faster, in fact, than copying and pasting a URL.

Plenty o' software out there for XP (i.e. - True Launchbar) which will allow multiple virtual desktops as well.

More fun is software like VMWare Workstation which allows you to run multiple simultaneous OSs. You can even play around w/Linux if you so desire!

Yippee!
