I just made a post in the site announcements forum about the purpose of the new voting functionality, but just for fun, I created a star wars vote. Go place a vote and check back later to contribute into consultation votes.

Available from the ‘community’ menu.

I cannot believe that the early returns rate Return of the Jedi anywhere near the first two movies; the fighting Teddy Bears are as idiotically annoying as Jar Jar Binks!!

No way, at least they had some small impact on the story, the boy Binks was utterly superfluous and if you take both sets of fuzz out, then Jedi is a way better film. Besides the gap will increase as more people vote anyway. Empire will and must be the winner, so all's good πŸ™‚

Nowhere near as annoying as Jar Jar Binks. That is actually an impossibility. Jedi is flawed but still up there with the other two. The last 40 minutes are the blueprint for every blockbuster sci-fi movie made since. To quote Comic Book Guy in the Simpsons, "Best ending ever!".

If you mean way better than Phantom Menace, I would have to agree because PM absolutely sucked so that's a very small hurdle to overcome. Obviously Empire Strikes Back is the best of the lot but I wouldn't rate ROJ anywhere near the original Star Wars.

Episodes I and II, in a word...trainwreck. Episode III might be watchable simply because I and II were so horrible. Empire was the best, hands down. Jedi was okay until the rats beat the supposedly superior Empire with their "sticks and snails and puppy dog tails" on Endor.

At my desk, I have an original Don Post Darth Vader mask, circa 1980 in very bad shape (what can I say, I was a kid). Never have I looked forward to something and been so disappointed in the outcome. The only way Episode III can be good is if the entire cast is strapped to the core of the Death Star and blown to pieces.

We can vote with grades, but I can't see those grades in the results, how does it work?

hmmm, let's see:

I started to write a very detailed list on each but that was rather long. It might be easier if you told me what you thought was good and I can try and tear it a new one πŸ™‚

Divide by the number of people who took the vote... and you get an average....

That is the only way to do it, unless Russ adds that option to show an average.
