I have been reading it recently. I have not read any other chess books, so I can only comment on what's in it rather than compare to other texts.

I never kissed Hitler so cannot compare against that experience either. 😉

There are about 200 short lessons which are supposed to relate back to Taoist thinking in some way or other. In general it seems to work, and, for the beginner at least, gives some useful pointers as to some of the basics of the game.

I found the authors reference to game positions difficult to follow at times, but then maybe thats just me.

Overall 6/10 - not as good as the Tao of Pooh though - however that won't help your chess much.
