the truth

General

I have thought that the truth is more important than anything else. But I did eventually come to believe that it is just another commodity. Given trumpism, I need to revisit.

Does your wife's ass look fat in those jeans?

I tend to play it safe. When my wife asks "how do I look?"

I reply, "Not fat."

Truth is an instrumental good, not an intrinsic good. Truth by itself moves nothing.

I honestly don't believe that your wife/partner/girlfriend/woman is concerned about what you think of her looks. I think what matters to her is her own opinion. What she sees in the mirror matters most. But if she should ask you, just say she looks beautiful.
