Amazing hitting coupled with stupendous pitching have combined to produce the greatest post-1900 baseball team the world has yet seen. Collectively the Tigers have hit 16 homeruns, including a league leading 5 by Chris Shelton. Mr. Shelton also leads the league in hitting with a .688 AVE. Needless to say, he will be the American League player of the week. Thursday the Tigers hit 7 homeruns against Texas, including 6 off R.A. Dickey. I guess it's safe to say his knuckleball wasn't working too well that day. Tonight rookie Justin Verlander is on the mound for the Tigers. We'll see if Texas can catch up with his 100mph fastball.
Meanwhile, the Yankees, with their $1,000,000,000 gazillion payroll, are only 1-3. Boo hoo. Steinbrenner must be so angry.

I guess Tigers and Brewers(I think Royals now... don't feel like going to yahoo) are the only to go undefeated yet. I'm willing to project your team can go for near 70 or 80 wins this year... I hope for an amazing 90!

5-0 now. Tigers beat the Rangers in dominant fashion, 7-0. Verlander hurls seven shutout innings for his first major league win. He hit 100 on the radar gun several times. Remember that name, folks, he's going to be a good one. Chris Shelton hits two triples and a single. He's batting .700 now. I'm thinking that I'm right, 162-0 here we come.

Justin Verlander and Joel Zumaya. These are the Tigers' two top pitching prospects this year. Each of them can hit 100mph on the radar gun. If they pan out the rest of the American League is going to be in for some trouble. So far their combined stats are:
