I've had several phone conversations with several members here. I've met maybe a dozen past members in real life. About half of those are inactive accounts made by local college kids from the Uni's chess club.

I have started PMing with some regular posters, and found that contact refreshing. There could be a possibility for real friendships. Time zone differences with NZ and Canada would make Skyping (or FaceTime) difficult but not impossible.

During last year I spent far less time on the SF (too much ego and brainless preaching, too little genuine conversations) and moved to the fun (and frequent ridiculousness!) of the GF. I really enjoyed that shift.
