Thinking of starting to smoke, patch help?

Do you think I could use the tobacco patch to build up levels
of nicotine before I start smoking so I can ease my way into it?

i started smoking a year ago next week. my gf pissed me off, and on a whim went to the store and bought a pack of marlboro. throught hurt for a few days, then all was well. back then, i smoked a whole pack in about 4 days. now i smoke a whole pack in 1. gets very expensive... don't start. plus, its bad for you. on the plus side, it goes well with coffee, driving, talking and other choice things as well.

oh, and don't smoke. my grandpa's had cronic lung disease for the last 20 odd years (he quit a good 30 to 40 years ago...) and is currently in hotspital thanks to it. he can't walk 2 steps without being out of breath. don't smoke. it'll be the death of you...

I used to smoke socially (only on weekends in the pub or night club) when I was younger.
However, I never really figured out what the point of it was.
1. It might look cool (debatable).
2. It isn't pleasurable (or is it? I certainly didn't notice anything).
3. Er...that's it.

my dad got acupuncture, a staple in each ear, and said it was amazing, he didn't feel like smoking at all (after smoking for 50 years). cost $400 tho 🙁 .
