First, I'll make it clear... my main aim is to get sympathy from you people.
So, here's what happened today:
In my geography class, at the beginning of each lesson, one person has to go up to the front and say what we did last lesson. Today was my turn, and I spent a lot of time studying. I was gonna bring my book to the front, as we had discussed some diagrams, and my teacher said no. So, I had to improvise and draw them on the board from memory.
Now usually, such a summary takes 5 minutes max. I don't know why this guy hates me so much, but he kept me up there for 35 minutes. As if that wasn't bad enough, he kept interrupting me... I could hardly get any words in because he was talking so much.He then proceeded to ask me questions about stuff we hadn't even done in class.. not last lesson, not ever. Obviously, he denied this when I said it.
And then.... then he tells me I get a D (a 4 for people with the system used in Germany) because I "Didn't know what I was talking about". Seriously, I said everything we had talked about the last lesson and I had understood all of it.
My classmates were horrified too.
So... I was pretty frustrated and called my mom when I got home. She asked me if I wanted her to talk to the guy, so enraged as I was, I said yes. What I obviously didn' know was that with the phrase "Do you want me to talk to him?", she actually meant "Do you want me to make an appointment with the guy so I can drag you along to discuss things?" So... not only is my geography grade ruined for this year, no, I now have to go and talk to the guy again.
God, I hate school!
Do you think this is fair?

It doesn't sound fair that he seemed to hold you to an unrealistic standard as far as what he required of others goes, but at least you'll be able to (hopefully) get to the bottom of why he did so.
Look at it as a life lesson: life is anything but fair.
Yes, I know you didn't want to hear that. 😉

Shall see what the talk is like... if he bitches around, I just might do something like that 😀
On the other hand... the whole of year 11 (about 90 people) are looking for a reason to get back at him... either by skipping his lessons until he apologizes for his random grades (obviously this method is favored) or by complaining to the principal.
Thanks for cheering me up sweety 😉

If all else fails, throw a tantrum and attack your teacher. You'll get nice councelling sessions and your grade will be forgiven.
Have you had run-ins with this teacher before? Does he have a history of being inconsistent or moody?
That doesn't sound fair, or reasonable. Unless there is something else going on here, I can't see any reason for that amount of criticism and abuse.
Going with your mom to discuss this will be difficult. It would have been easier, for you, if she handled it. But maybe with you both there some actual resolution could happen?

I organised my first strike at secondary school. In the days we still had corporal punishment in Scotland. My hands hurt for days!
Originally posted by RookRAKyes he has a reputation for giving random grades. He's also had an official trial for lack of preparation for classes.

Generally, he's just an idiot... I think most of the other teachers think so too, there's just not much you can do about it here 🙁
I haven't had a run-in with this particular teacher before though.
Last time (different teacher) it worked really well when I went along with my mom, I get along much better now with that teacher. Only that I have some respect for that other teacher because he actually changed his behaviour towards me and also gave some reasons for being the way he was... but with this teacher, I'd bet money on it that he won't say a single true thing.
Said it before. Will say it again:
Secondary teachers - the scourge of the planet.
Some of the most pathetic people become teachers. They're usually incapable of doing anything else. Give him hell with your mum there. I wouldn't point out how bad he is to his face unless you're thinking of switching classes. It's all a power game, so play it well. Tell him you're upset because you really love geography. That's stump the sod!
Good luck!

Sadly, I think the teacher has the hots for you and can't deal with it in a mature manner.
Brief description of my teacher:
He is about 1.6 meters "tall", white hair... except for color it somehow reminds everybody of Krusty the clown form the simpsons..., always has a tan, has o-legs... I'd peg him at 60.
So.... I am standing in front of my class on monday, talking, when I look to the back of the classroom to where my teacher is sitting.
BIG MISTAKE.
He just had his hand in his balls. Not the discreet was through the pocket either, no, it was full-frontal. Needless to say, I nearly threw up and my concentration was gone... gah!
I'd just thought I'd successfully gotten rid of that mental image... gah!

As far as my own experience goes, that teacher sounds like a typical geography teacher. Ugh. 😕 Good luck with that meeting! Maybe it won't be so bad. I think many bad teachers actually behave the way they do in class because they feel very insecure and can't handle the situation. They may be much nicer if you meet them outside class. And he will probably try not to make a bad impression on your mother.
Starrman: I thought you were dead? Are you writing from heaven or from hell?

I'd take that knowledge with you and your mother to the pricipal after the teacher meeting.
