A newspaper I occasionally read has a column for readers to post questions for other readers to answer. The questions range from rib-tickling trivia to brow-creasing profundity, but each one is a sincere effort to acquire new information. In a similar vein, this thread is for those questions you just can't seem to find the answers to. The most cursory glance at the General forum reveals the plethora of acumen, intelligence, resourcefulness and drive available here, so I'm sure even the most difficult questions shan't be long in finding answers.
The only rule is that your question must genuinely be one that you cannot answer (you have to do at least a two-minute Google search).
My first question:
What is a porn fluffer?
Originally posted by Matt HortinGreat. I found plenty of people claiming or wanting to be porn fluffers (even for free) on the Internet, but no job description. I thought the fluffer's role was similar to a prompter in the theatre...Thanks for putting me straight.
One who "prepares" a (male) star for the main event ahead. I've often wondered why one would be necessary. Obviously it's a very unexciting business...
Go ahead, anyone, ask a question...
Originally posted by Bosse de NageSurely you found something useful when you typed that into google.

Now that's something that continues to perplex me. I hope one of our knowledgable pawnstars can help you, because old as I am I haven't a clue. Xanthos? You're still awake. Anyone?
Why is the concept of odd and even a philosophical illusion?

Good question, that. (But whatever you do, be sure not to bring DoctorScribbles in here).
Originally posted by NyxieI'm not sure I'd call it an illusion, philisophical or otherwise, though it is most definitely a concept of human creation rather than mathematical one. I found some interesting stuff on the philosophy of maths here:

But I couldn't be bothered to read it all, I just thought it might be a good side salad. If RC was here, he'd have more to say on the subject I'm sure.
