Platipi lay eggs and are mammals. It's not impossible.

I know. I didn't say no mammals lay eggs, but walri (and walrae) don't.

What would you accept as a proof?

Hey, our wrecks match! Who gave you all those wrecks?

I dunno. It's too hard to find them all. But it've been in the 70's for a long time.

If you find two sources that say that walri don't lay eggs, then I'll agree with you.

They don't explicitly say that walri don't lay eggs, but the reproduction doesn't involve laying eggs, so if they do lay eggs, it must be in addition, maybe for their Sunday breakfast.

Not good enough proof. It doesn't explicitly say that walri don't lay eggs. I never said the eggs were part of the reproduction process.

Okay then.

"The only two mammals that lay eggs are the echidna and the platypus." (http://www.weeuniverse.com/triviaanimals.html)

"Mammals which lay eggs are called monotremes. Platypuses and echidnas are the only monotremes." (http://www.kidcyber.com.au/topics/mammals.htm)

If you still think that's not good enough, you'll have to prove that walri aren't mammals.

Walruses, like most other mammals, have live birth. The calf is usually born on the ice. Mama walruses are pregnant for 15 to 16 months. The calf can nurse up to two years.

A walrus can live up to 16 to 30 years.

It's "walri", not "walruses" (for females, it's "walrae", of course). 😉

I do like the idea of walrus eggs.

Over easy with some crispy bacon!
