Check around with others, but I think a hanging one would be better if you have a strong anchor-point for it.

In my case, my current cinderblock hovel is divided up into small rooms (which was an efficient design for its size and its time), which is somewhat limiting. No room to swing a sword or battle-axe, and of course these days it's probably unwise to practice with those outside in the driveway.
