I have a mystery blank email in my junk folder that keeps re-appearing after I delete it.
It's from midnight on 1 Jan 1970.

Anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it?
I've had a poke around the internet and it does seem to be a known glitch (rather than a virus), but I don't understand how to get rid of it!

If it gives a senders address, stick it in the blocked list. [assuming thunderbird has that sort of thing - I don't use it meself]

It works with yahoo mail and outlook express.

edit; and gmail.

Never heard of the problem. But I would think it's easy enough to solve. Junk filtering should do it. Thunderbird is the best client there is.

This is not spam.

Actually the problem doesn't seem to be that it keeps being sent to me - even if I am offline, I can delete it from the junk folder (it vanishes) switch to the inbox, and when I switch back to the junk folder it has re-appeared!

Stop whinging and just create a filter that auto-deletes it.

Is it still there after closing thunderbird and reopening?

Yes, it's been there for a few weeks now.
It doesn't have a sender or message subject or indeed any content.
It's completely blank except for the date (1970) πŸ˜•

Have you tried reinstalling Thunderbird - sometimes works for this sort of thing.
