Do you think Tiger Woods will be the greatest golfer ever. Will he beat Jack Nicklaus's record for majors won.?

Originally posted by boarmanWell if he can play till he is 80 he has a lot of years left. Been playing since he was three, why stop? He is far from over the Hill. I mean come on he is waisting everyone, even on his bad days. And he is improving on the green I think.

We will have someone that will constantly challenge Tiger ,its just that they have not fully emerged as yet.
Dont get me wrong Tiger is a great player ,but until he surpasses Jack's record for major wins he cannot be declared as the greatest golfer ever, certainly he is the greatest at the moment.

He's got the guts to go for risky shots, that's all - which is also the reason he loses badly where the others will play more percentage golf.
Originally posted by boarmanI have always said he is overrated, comparing him to Jack is ridiculous. Every year its the same thing with Tiger, he plays like crap in most tournaments and then all of a sudden wins a tournament and all of a sudden everyone is back to calling him the #1 golfer and the best golfer ever, yeah lets just forget him missing the cut in previous tournament and his other horrible results and put him over these people who have 4 or 5 top 5 finishes. Tiger started out great but is not the best golfer playing right now, let alone greatest golfer ever. The next tournament will prove my point and then no one will say anything about him, and then when he finally wins another one after that, it will be back to, Oh Tiger how great he is.

Originally posted by boarmanActually I was joking, but can someone tell me how old Jack Nicklaus's is now. I mean the guy played forever. I found an interesting statistic comparing Jack and Tiger. Jack hold the record of the fewest strokes below par in the front nine. And Tiger holds the record of the fewest strokes in the back nine. I find that strange how Nicklaus would slide on the finish and Tiger would come alive.
He will definitely not play to he's 80.
