i know this issue has been flogged to death and this has probably been suggested b4.
here goes
have the t/o options 1-100 days.
all games automatically t\o.
but then have an option to hold t\o if u want 2.
this way it works in reverse and nobody can complain coz it is the default. if there is a complaint then it is just well i did not log that or whatever.

Widening the TO options for games will confuse people - I prefer to know that my games are either 7 or 14 day TO's without the posibility of getting caught out by a 5 day TO mixed in with them.
If all games were auto TO then it would lead to people winning games that they didn't want to claim. I can imagine people agreeing not to TO when someone is on holiday but then forgetting to stop the TO. Imagine the arguments from that! If it was made too simple to stop the TO then people will still complain when they are TO'd because the otehr person chose not to stop it, only a very slight difference from chosing to claim it.
People have to accept that TO's exist and that if you go past it you can lose the game, vacation icon or not. Give Timebank a chance, which for all the bitching I still believe will provide a significant impovement when people are used to it.

We have already have:
days per move (typical play rate)
Timebank (for unusual days)
A long timeback allows for holidays / computer problems etc. so that accepting T/Os doesn't have the same level of 'uncoolness' it once did.
I'd say there's no real need for anything else (other than allowing predominantly timebank formats: i.e. adding 0 days and 1 day per move options).
Perhaps a handy thing would be a game setting "Auto timeout after <> days", so that folks know the T/O philosophy of opponents when accepting / refusing challenges. For tourneys, clan games and seige games, this auto timeout setting would be fixed as appropriate.
