No, not those timeouts that we all love to use here 🙂
What is so difficult about clock management at the end of a football game. All of my friends and I sitting in the bar could have done a much better job than Andy Reid of the Eagles did against the Giants. He blew a 10 point lead with 4 minutes left! Its not just that, its almost all the coaches in the NFL. They cannot manage the clock at the end of a game.
What ticks me off almost as bad is the end of the first half. How many coaches actually try to score in the the end of the second quarter. So many of them waste what is a possible oppurtunity to score at least 3 before the half.
And lastly, a veteran quaterback steps up to the line and reads the defense, he doesn't like what he see's. What should he do? CALL ANOTHER PLAY! Do they? No. They step away, start walking toward the sideline and make the dreaded "T" with their hands. Such a waste.
Anyway, I'm pissed about the Eagles game if you couldn't tell. Had to vent a little.

Look dude. There are alot of damn people who aren't ready to talk about Sunday, okay? I'm a LITTLE freakin' traumatized and a LITTLE emotional right now, so I'd appreciate a LITTLE bit of consideration right now, okay?

I agree, clock management is very important, and not enough coaches out there have truly mastered it. Bill Parcells is one of the few exceptions. I also agree that too often, teams piss away the last couple of minutes in the second half, instead of making a genuine effort to put some points on the board.

Regarding your point about teams not liking what they see on the opposing side and calling a time out...I think that's what makes Peyton Manning so great. He makes alot of last-minute adjustments just before the snap.
Anyway, I understand your pain. That was a crappy way to lose. Can't say I'm upset about the result though. 😉
