On the one hand, the plasma grenade sticks to an enemy and it's hilarious to watch them run around the room asking for futile help to get it off before it explodes. On the other hand, they have time to carry it away from the rest of the pack. And a frag does not glow phosphorescently, so you don't see it coming as easily.
