@diver
Philip Seymour Hoffman in all of his movies, unfortunately there won't be any more.
Jeremy Irons, Margin Call - didn't know he was this good.
Michael Caine, The Cider House Rules to mention one.

Helen Mirren: Prime Suspect - brilliant actress
Katharine Hepburn: African Queen, Guess who is coming to dinner
Meryl Streep: Sophie's Choice, Out of Africa

Ingrid Bergman: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. She is beautiful and that accent.😘
Ralph Fiennes: Schindler’s List. Loved to hate him. What a swine.
Like Torunn. Meryl Streep: Sophie’s Choice

I realized what a great actor Tommy Lee Jones is when I saw The Fugitive.

Have you seen Margin Call? Jeremy Irons, not TLJ, but worth a watch.

There are several really good movies about 2008 financial crisis; I think the best is ‘The Big Short’ with Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.

No, I've not seen that, but I can look for it.

@Suzianne

This is going back away, but Josephine Hull: Arsenic and old lace, Harvey. She was a stage actress who had incredible presence, and a deliciously unpleasant face.

A-la Marie’s Dressler.👍

@Great-Big-Stees

Yes. Hull won an Oscar for supporting actress in Harvey.

Another fave: Maggie Smith, sadly recently deceased.
