Got a wife obsessed with Christmas, so ours went up in mid-Nov.

I don't have a Christmas tree; I had when we still had young children in the family - grandson and great-granddaughter - but that was a few years ago, they are now 16 and 10 years old.

Yes, it's a special day for me personally and for the Nobel Prize laureates. 🙂
I will be watching the Nobel festivities that day and be grateful for modest attention on other occasions. 🙂

Growing up, my father got it organised on Christmas Eve. He cut an old dried up tree, we covered it with cotton wool, bulbs and lights. It looked great. Amazing how such small things create such happy memories. In those days carollers sang old Christmas carols going house to house in the village.

We have a tipple and a mince pie while decorating the tree (Christmas carols played in the background). We've always bought tree decorations when we've travelled, so it's fun to recollect where we bought them. (Many were bought in Munich and Bruges).

Had a recent death in the family so will be a strange Christmas this year. (She was only born in July).

I'm sorry for your loss, and a child too, very sad.

So so sorry, such a tragic loss especially at this time of year.

Thank you both. Was my nieces 4th child and spent almost all her short life in Gt Ormond St. There was hope she might have been home for Christmas but sadly wasn't to be.

It is a tragedy for all involved, family and friends of the family. It shouldn't happen.

Yes, thats sad, especially when the child is so young My both parents passed away in their 90s in the last few years. They lived long and well, but the memories always come back at these times.
