So you know, the idea of a tournament has been kicked around in the forums pretty much since the site
started. Recently a forum thread triggered Schliemann and others to organize one and they simply
asked in the forums for folks to respond if they were interested. The interest was pretty strong and
fast, but of course that meant it was limited to those of us who hang around in the forums causing
trouble! 🙂. The originators of the site, the Amazing WebGurus Russ and Chris, weren't "officially"
involved in setting up the tournament, but are doing what they can to help it along.
Had any of us braniacs thought of it before, asking Chris and Russ to do what they just did, namely put
up a sign for the tournament on the login page, a lot more interested folks (like you!) would have heard
about it. As my hero Homer Simpson would say "DU-OH". Well, maybe next time - I have a feeling
there are going to be more tournaments in the future, since people have embraced this one quite
enthusiastically.
