Julia...I have a swiss pairing program...this will be done just like any
standard FIDE tourney.

Sorry, Dave, I don't understand. I don't know the rules of the FIDE
tourneys.
For instance you have 20 people in a group with their ratings. Is it on
the basis of the ratings - and, if yes, how -, names, or gender?

All is based on ratings....as for the rest of your question now you have
confused me.

I was TD for the United States Chess Federation and one for the
IECC...I do this by the book...and I think everyone knows that and
trusts that it is done correctly.

Noone will get favoritism...the same rules apply to everyone...myself
included.

I will give you an example of how this will work...in the top group we
have 4 people....(so far...I hope more join)

wwarrior - 1734
fernando - 1773
Knightmare - 1788
Schliemann - 1828

By rating wwarrior will play Knightmare....fernando would play me...if
you put us as 1..2..3..4 then 1 plays 3 and 2 plays 4...then the
winners play each other.

I hope that clears it up a bit.

I started another one w/ me as black cause you seem to taking some
time to ponder your next move in our current one...And, yes, I have
no idea how I got back in it....I was about to resign on 2 or 3
occasions
