A little history of this tradition. 50 years ago a young girl from Colorado tried to call Santa on a special number provided by a supermarket chain during a promotion. However she misdialed and ended up speaking to the commander-in-chief of CONAD (NORAD's predecessor). He didn't want to disappoint the girl so he used the technology at his disposal to find out where Santa was. And now you can track it online.
