@contenchess saidAccording to everyone I alert at least 6 every day!....LOL....

@contenchess saidSo vaccinations are no longer mandatory for the truckers?
It was...
Now it's about the covid restrictions.
The USA and many other countries have opened up and moved on from Covid.
We want to as well.
F Trudeau!
I know you voted for him Rusty!! π‘
I hope that’s the case.
@pb1022 saidThat is what they are going for, we have yet to see how that will end.

I have a feeling not well.

@very-rusty saidAs long as the vaccinations remain mandatory, I totally support the truckers.

Nobody should be forced to take a vaccine especially when covid seems less and less like a crisis and more and more like something that’s being used for nefarious purposes.
@pb1022 saidI am all for people to be able to decide for themselves so long as it isn't going have an affect on anyone else. We saw what happened in the U.S.A. in states where people were vaccinated and other states where they weren't. Even Trump wound up with the covid which the Dr.'s caught in time, or he would be history.

@very-rusty saidI think the data indicates the vaccines are not at all effective and some people, even very healthy people, have had fatal reactions to it.

And I don’t think the mortality rate of covid and even the rate of people who become seriously ill from it is significant. Should be ban cars because hundreds of thousands of people die in car accidents every year? Trying to create a risk-free world is impossible.
I think social distancing and masks are fine but I’m not allowing someone to inject something into my body without knowing the long-term effects of it and how safe it is.
@pb1022 saidActually, the number of people killed in car accidents every year (worldwide) is apparently 1.35 million people.

@pb1022 saidI don't think you can compare this virus with car accidents.

You may as well say you could walk across the road and get hit by a truck and killed.
This debate on the vaccine will go on for years. Personally I have my two vaccines plus the booster shot.
Keep in mind there may have been underlying conditions on some who were vaccinated and died anyways. In cases where they had none, perhaps the vaccine killed them we don't know the real stats on it all and probably never will.
I've seen what has happened here when they opened things up the number of covid went up when they closed things down the cases of covid went down?

If Covid were more like the Andromeda Strain – where people's blood just turned to dust in a day or two – we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
Or if Covid were more like airborne Ebola – where people's blood just sprayed out of them and infected others – we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
Or if Covid were more like American Politics – where stupid, conniving people's yappy animal-kingdom but psychotic nonsense propogates itself on the Internet – er, thank goodness for Covid, in a way.
@kevin-eleven saidThen don't bother with vaccines or getting a booster. Let me know how that works out for you.

@very-rusty saidI've had two Pfizer shots and a booster. You're starting to remind me of @Suzianne in the sense of flying off on a wild tangent in response to what someone posts. However, I am sympathetic to that kind of behavior and try to make allowances for when that happens.

@earl-of-trumps saidHey Big Buddy Earl, well I tell you what.
hey, you mother trucker, Kevin. whutch'yall up to. [oom shaka laka][oom shaka laka] π
Sometimes I don't know if I'm driving or dreaming, and who the hell knows what I might be delivering!
But one of my favorite truck stops is Aunt Betty's Bar and Diner, right on the Indiana-Illinois border, off I-74.
Some people of Earth might think you have to go farther west to see the stars in the sky and have aliens look back into your eyes. Well, that's all just landlubber talk and supposition.
At Aunt Betty's there's no telling what kind of aliens one might meet. And of course I'm scrambling some details to protect the innocent, but at one time there might have been a kid who could move the crayons to color the pictures on his placemat with just his third eye -- but that's just a story, and the kid (if she existed) had much different powers.
(J/K -- It was a he, and he won a blue ribbon at the 4H Club for doing that.)
So please keep all that to yourself. π
P.S. -- A cool memory from my childhood was when we stopped at a gas station in between radio stations sometime late at night.
P.P.S. -- My favorite meal there was an open-face turkey sandwich on white bread (I'm not punning) with mashed potatoes. We mostly stopped there when I was helping my Dad deliver the Beaverville Herald-Tribune, which was admittedly mostly ads for local businesses, but my Dad also wrote a few articles and I think included one illo of mine even though I was maybe 14 at the time, along with some popular content from the Knight-Ridder content-providing service.
The thing is, my Dad started off in radio, and I started off in magic and science-fiction. OK, and also Russian literature.
Well, this is turning out to be somewhat inconclusive, isn't it?
@Kevin-Eleven
Aunt Betty is to be included, along with the Elbonians. Yes! And Kev, errr, try to drop some weight.
