Once I saw I guy pick up his king and throw it at the tournament director, just missing him! He then left. I had never seen anyone resign in that way before. Yes, it's a true story!

This is a good example of one of the reasons why it is important. You've actually managed to create an entirely different meaning from the intended one. Even if I read 'speeling' as 'spelling', the sentence 'spelling isn't so impotent' is nonsensical.
