It's been 11 hours and fourteen days
Since I had the last drag on the last fag...
I stoped counting the hours after I got to 100, I stopped counting the days after I got to 10, but I just did some calculations while I'm waiting for someone to move...
I put out the last ciggie at 10.40pm, on Sunday 22nd January, so it's been:
347 and three quarters hours...
20,865 mintues...
1,251,900 seconds...
330 ciggies not smoked
= 16 and a half packs
= 65 quid not spent (if I'd bought them in the UK)
(4,950 yen actual cost not spent = 24.75 quid, which isn't so much...)
So, I can have a couple of beers tonight, and a bottle of Wild Turkey 8-year-old, and maybe go for some good sushi at the weekend...
I'M RICH!!!!!! (soon, maybe...)
So, how do I feel? Up for a marathon on Saturday? Full of beans and raring to go? Bursting with life and energy? The hell I do. I feel like someone jumped on me last night from a great height. And they do it every night, and stuff my nose with all kinds of stuff, so when I wake up in the morning and sneeze, there's so much of this green gunk and snot and bogies that "Oops, sorry, washing day again today..."
I started smoking when I was 7, which is about 36 years ago... Park Drive (tipped) and Woodbines. By the time I went to secondary school (11 years old) I was getting through 20 Number 6 a day, the I moved on up to good old B&H when I left school. Rollies came naturally when I started on the wacky baccie, Golden Virginia of course (Old Holborn is like old socks), although Drum and Samson were nice for a change. I couldn't get the stuff I liked to smoke in Poland, so I worked my way through most of what was available (Klubowe, Radomskie, Popularne, Mocne, Kapitan...) before settling on the best of the rubbish that I could buy, Camel Lights. Then Marlboro arrived, and I changed to Marlboro Lights for the rest of my smoking carreer. But even then things weren't straight forward, because the regional variations are so different. Polish ones are better than Chinese (only just), which are better than Japanese, which are better than the ones you can buy in England (in a shop; some of the ones you can buy off a mate in a pub are quite good...), which are better than the American ones...
Do I want to smoke now?
Yes.
Do I still get the urge to put money in every fag machine I go past (and there are loads of them here...)?
Yes.
Will I?
Well, I don't want to, and I'll try to keep on abstaining...
Oh, someone's moved, I'll go back to playing chess now, sorry for the interruption and thank you for your attention...
EDIT: yes, I did inhale...
