Pretty convincing stuff??
This is the first video footage I have seen that appears to have some kind of credibility. The Chinese authorities shut the airport for an hour, and diverted 18 flights.
Edit: And this is weird too! I wonder if Nordlys can verify if it is definitely not the Aurora Borealis?

It looks more like some sort of burning debris creating vapour and turbulence, probably a missile test that's gone wrong. Plus that photo at the end of the video looks like a picture of a helicopter taken with a long exposure time.

Only if you're a UFO believer. Terrestrial explanations are not hard to come by, for the rest of us.
I woz bluffing...! ๐
...like the Chinese authorities are.
I'm interested to know what it is though. Seems to be going too slowly for something burning up DS; and a helicopter wouldn't cause that weird kind of gas expulsion that follows it, I hesitate to add??
Let's add this, to put the cat amongst the pigeons, shall we?

It would take less than a day's work to put together fake videos of this quality, if you knew what you were doing. It still baffles me how people are so eager to accept what they see because someone they've never met tells them it's a UFO.
Think of the sheer magnitude of what can be done in cinema these days and you still think this stuff has any chance of being real?

after a little googling though, it appears the video is not from china but kazakhstan in june, and the 'ufo' a russian rocket carrying supplies to ISS. which to me explains the incredibly slow (for a meteor) angle speed (it's going up, not horizontal), wide angle of the exhaust jet (it's accelerating away from us) and its sudden narrowing (multi-stage rocket, and the nozzle width is changed to compensate lower pressure in upper atmosphere).
