Cool! You may have already seen this link...

In some ways I envy you guys - about to start University, some of you meeting girls for the first time, staying up late (all night, perhaps) talking about 'stuff', putting the world to rights, drinking vast amounts of beer etc. (Wow, that's quite a list...).
I started University in 1987, graduated in 1990, and I must admit had a *whale* of a time.
But then today...no grants, dumbed down qualifications, further education no longer as special as it once was, rat race on graduation, and maybe things ain't what they used to be...?

Evidence that the UK has an alcohol-orientated culture?
Originally posted by ivangriceApparently most of Europe has sobered up a lot in the last 50 years, eg alcohol consumption has halved in France. In the UK alcohol consumed per head has DOUBLED in that time, and now cirrhosis of the liver is becoming common among both men and women in their thirties 😞

Originally posted by ivangriceThe best I've managed so far is 6:15 am IIRC. All of us were completely sober and we did nothing except talk 🙄

Good luck to everyone starting uni this year, and make better use of your time than I have so far 😳
