Anyone into unlicensed boxing, as glamourised by Snatch?

Is there a hip term for it?

A video from Germany here:

The pikey bareknuckle fighting style fascinates me, mainly because of the culture around it. Talking is a big part of it.

I posted about this in the sports forum; the Dan Rooney video is a classic of its kind. An acquired taste no doubt ...

From what I heard, bare knuckle fighting can cause less damage than gloves. Did you hear anything about that?

Gee, I've been a fan of boxing all my life, and then I started liking ultimate fighting stuff, and then tried to get more mean in my tastes and attended one underground, free style, no gloves, bets crossed fights in Northern Mexico.

When I saw bones broken, eyes lost, and men crippled for the amusement and profit of a bunch of animals (us), I decided I would stick to the more civilized boxing.

Then again, maybe I am a softy and hate human suffering.

I found out there's a regular no-holds-barred fight scene in Cape Town, in a small red-light strip in the centre of town, hosted by Russian businessmen. You need a password; raincoats are handed out at the door.

Maybe in traditional boxing, but the all-in fighting that's popular these days is brutal. I don't like it.

Stay away from there.

If they can bomb Georgia, they can surely make you their woman.

Now that sounds like a place to go if only for the chance to tell the tale.

Great for impressing business associates: an all-in fight followed by a strip club, or vice-versa.
