I was reading some of the recent posts concerning some who are
hesitant to use their credit card to make a contribution for a pawn star.
I have a little general advice that some of you might find useful, and
make you feel more comfortable about internet financial transactions
in general.
I have been on the internet for about six years, and it soon became
apparent to me that I would be wanting to make some purchases
online.
I didn't want to use my existing credit cards online, so was very
hisitant about it.
My solution was to get a new mastercard with a very low credit limit on
it, and use that one card exclusively for any online purchases. I have
used that card fairly regularly and am happy to say that I have never
had any problems whatsoever. If the card number should happen to
get into the wrong hands, it won't be worth much to anyone.
BUT BEWARE!!
Most companies like to automatically raise your credit limit from time
to time, but in this case I insist that they leave it exactly where it is.
So far they have honored my request to not raise my limit. If the
time comes when they raise it anyway, I will cancel that account
immediately and look for a different card company that will pay
attention to the customer. They need me a whole lot more than I
need them.
Hope this is useful
