'Fraid not... i think it is horrible, and can't bring myself to listen to any track on it at all...

It depends on what you mean by unlistenable... I like to listen to songs completely, and I can listen to music for hours at a time without needing to do anything else. I cannot listen to a single track on that album without feeling the need to do something else, or just simply choose another song.
I am currently trying to listen to 'Wake Up' and I can keep it on, as long as it is on quietly and I am doing things to occupy myself. Personally I can't see how people like it.

Yup. I just can't see the attraction. They are one of the most overhyped bands around at the moment imho, along with The Strokes, The White Stripes, Coldplay, and My Chemical Romance.
Whenever people rave about these bands and I listen to them it's like a joke that I don't get.
Originally posted by VargI like the White Stripes. How could anyone live up to that hype? Blame yourself for reading music magazines. The music is solid.

The Strokes, The Hives, Franz Ferdinand--I must be too old for them, for they leave me quite indifferent.
I hope the Arcade Fire lives up expectations, though, I've just gone & ordered it!

But if you'd have said "talking to people" you may have had a point.
These bands just seem to get mentioned everywhere to the point that when I eventually hear them, my reaction is invariably "Oh, is that it?".
Originally posted by VargI buy Word and Uncut from a local stationery shop. The issues are a couple months out of date, but they're cheap and come with a cd worth listening to, if you can credit it. There are other magazines too, Q and so forth, but their cds are horrible--what you'd expect to hear at once if you turned on the radio.

Originally posted by darvlayNot as bad as Wolfmother. New Australian band, yadda yadda yadda, it was good for a while, but now it's waaaaay overrated.
Ugh. The Strokes' new album is pure rubbish.
Hmm. I would probably say Hefty Fine, Bloodhound Gang. They can't seem to make up their minds on what they want to do anymore; and it definatly wasn't worth paying $27AUD to have just over 40 minutes worth of music.
Oh, and albums definatly worthy = Twin Cinema (New Pornographers) Franz Ferdinand (self titled, the new one, You Could Have It So Much Better With...isn't really par) and White Stripes (Get Behind Me Satan).
