They (dreams) are the closest we get to communicating with our unconscious mind. Therefore, base feelings, such as fear and dread (and sometimes irrational anger), which we tamp down in our conscious mind in order to wing it through the day, can become manifest in dreams. This is both halves of our mind attempting to make sense of the dichotomy of what we consider acceptab ...[text shortened]... ght happen to us if we never got the chance to dream and the unconscious mind is allowed free reign.
I just read this description a little while ago and feel it’s partially correct. I don’t think we’re getting to the closest point of dealing with the unconscious mind and irrational anger, which this could be substituted with anything as per that individual and dream shaped by certain thoughts at a certain time and life.
If anything I feel this is our true shaped self realized or not from our entire life experiences good and bad that runs below our radar while awake and forms who we are as an individual. Things like fear, dread, happiness, fairness to self, how we function, treat others, feel about ourselves and on. Things we haven’t let go of or have depending on the dream. But when asleep, mind at rest, with no mask on and pushed down to function while awake these things flow freely within the mind without restriction with creativity to give shape to these things.

Thank you. I'm glad to learn of this.

P.S. -- If the light switches don't work, that's a clue. 😉
Is that from Inception?

Great movie. Outstanding cast.

No, just from my own experience and checking that on the webs afterwards. 😉

That Tom Hardy, though. 😉

("Who's that guy?" I thought at the time -- although I am generally into younger and less bulky guys, plus I'm a derelict scrub who would be a poor prospect for anyone of whatever age. The good news is that I will probably die sometime in the next 30 years or so, if not sooner.)

This is more akin to Jung's theories and less similar to what Freud thought, for sure.

Content is less important than concept, meaning your brain can present you with scenarios in different ways, which may align more with how you think as an individual. And, of course, scenarios become more familiar the more they are pulled from conscious memories. Well done.

Hehe, yes.

I find that there's something more than a little primal about Tom Hardy.

Depends on my mood, but... yeah.

I don’t know who these people are or what their theories are about. I don’t feel we’re on the same page though on what I’m saying but do appreciate the response.
