Animation Shop is part of Paint Shop Pro. You can get a free 60 day version online, I bought it for 99 bucks back in the day and have used it for work and screwing around. It's the price of a couple video games, and it doesn't get boring because you're always doing new things with it.

Anyway for now I downloaded a trial version http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/download/animationshop
and have been messing about a bit, seems quite good.

I went into the help, help topic, found this:
"To start Animation Shop from within Paint Shop Pro, choose Run Animation Shop from the File menu. Animation Shop will be launched in a separate window."
...but it's not there...😞
