Summer is overrated. I prefer autumn.

I prefer winter.

Edit: If it gets too cold you just put on more layers whereas in the summer if it gets too hot the best you can do is get naked....oh wait and what's wrong with that? Hmmmmmmm. Well I still prefer winter.

I prefer autumn in the UK. Nowhere else smells as good.

I sometimes miss winter; as much as the smell of putrified milk! 😉

I'm hoping September gives us some good weather.

Summer scene, in a whimsical sense, seems somewhat like a large brightly lit stage. Individually, we walk or dance across it saying what we have to say in our usual style... energized by the verve and vigor within our bones; constrained only by the brevity of the season. Soon the curtain closes once again. We return to our dressing room cabins backstage.

Some of those.

I'm just glad I don't have to shovel the sun! 😀

Summer here is rather too brightly lit and the natives spend it somewhere else. The only ones who can be seen outside are the children who defy the sun in their suntanned youth. The best time of year for us is spring and autumn, with winter falling into second place since we get most of our precipitation then (although there's a brief muggy season in August). The high temperatures often last through mid October, but our winter often doesn't really get rolling cold until mid December, so autumn is still short, like the spring. So we basically get 3 months of winter, 2 each of spring and autumn, and 5 long months of summer, with the first and last months feeling like normal summer elsewhere.

These seasonal extremes play any significant role in maintaining border security?
