Does anyone know of good video playback software that can handle DVDs and all the way down, but it needs to be able to 'de-couple' the video playback 'screen' from the controls.
I need the controls to stay on a screen and the playback to happen on a projector -> stretched desktop in XP.
I just use VLC and it seems it can't do this, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ha! Got it. VLC is great!
I've always just maximized VLC.

Eek! That's weird and so unlike you... or is that me? Did you call me a constant sarcastic a while ago?
I have that down, I just needed the decoupling info.
Just use VLC in full-screen mode. You might need to double click the screen once it's in full screen to detach the control bar. Also, I don't think you can do it on some of the old version of VLC so make sure you've got the latest release.
