Interesting results.
Dear friend,
I am writing to ask you to take a look at a Website called www.us-election.org. It allows people who are not US citizens to vote in the next American Presidential election and is filled with information about all of the candidates.
I know that you may wonder why you should vote in the US election, since your vote will not affect the results. That is true, but it may nevertheless be useful for Americans to understand how we feel about their choices. The choices Americans make affect us all, so even if we have no legal right to participate in their election, they should know how we feel.
The results can be viewed immediately on the site and right up to the election day of November 2. They can be viewed country-by-country as well as region-by-region. All you have to do is go to
http://www.us-election.org
and register your vote. It's easy.
Then, once you have voted, pass this letter on to as many of your friends as have access to a computer and the Internet. Make our voice as loud as you can, because America needs to know that we are here and watching.
All the best.
Your friend,

I'll even provide you with candidates to include alongside Bush and Kerry: let's see, most of you love Jaques "snail-eater" Chirac and Gertrude "the scrotum" Schroeder, the two who provided weapons to their bed-mate Saddam up until the war...lots of you like Yasser "turkey neck" Arafat...let's see, you can include the head of Hamas too...Ok, last but not least, you can ask "stainmeister" slick Willy Clinton to toss his hat into the ring....Ok, vote away!!.....😲 🙄

claims that even in the u.s. kerry beats bush by miles.
this is obviously not realistic.
the votes from the rest of the world are also undoubtedly skewed one way or the other.
Originally posted by flexmoreI stand "educated"- thanks for the lesson...OK, Fischer's a jerk for some of his viewpoints...great American, not hardly...🙂
you miss my point,
even if your claim that he is american is sensible, to claim he is great is surely irresponsible.
are you aware of his world view?

And back on-topic, there is a question of 'other countries' influencing the USA vote: by the fact that USA nationals live in those countries and are exposed to different (typically less pro-republican) media outlets.
see for a smallish discussion:

I suppose it is less "other countries" than it is "other media": pro-republican CNN (US) vs pro-democrat 'The Guardian' (UK) and so on.

but i personally believe that there is a need for the rest of the world to influence the u.s. election: it is required for true democracy.
the u.s. government has massive affects on the rest of us, it is our world government (for the moment) and so we need to have input if this world is to be democratic.
there are many problems that stop this from directly happenning.
perhaps the most serious problem is that another country may become the new top dog soon, perhaps china will soon take over as top dog, then there is no point in the rest of the world voting in the u.s. elections: we would want to vote in the chinese elections 😉
