WASHINGTON–Scientists at the U.S. government weapons lab in New Mexico claim to have built the world's fastest computer.
The new computer is said to capable of sustaining 1,000 trillion operations a second.
The U.S. Energy Department and IBM Corp. announced the breakthrough today.
The computer, named Roadrunner, will be used to help maintain the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile.

loved 'Joshua'. Probably rented it 5-6 times over the years.
Well before we start thinking RoadRunner is going to launch missles:

a computer to be used primarily on nuclear weapons work, including simulating nuclear explosions. Along with other supercomputers, it will be key "to assure the safety and security of our (weapons) stockpile," said D'Agostino. With its extraordinary speed it will be able to simulate the performances of a warhead and help weapons scientists track warhead aging.
But officials said the computer also could have a wide range of other applications in civilian engineering, medicine and science, from developing biofuels and designing more fuel efficient cars to finding drug therapies and providing services to the financial industry.

I liked the film all the same.
Decisions are still taken by humans. Even if they state a ciomputer did it. It can "only" execute what humans fed it with. Responsability (though I doubt about the ability part) lies still with humans.

Ethics is a concept which involves (self-)concsiousnes. And this is what I would call the soul.
